Video Player Updates

Preview Thumbnails

Users with permission to view video from a camera can now see preview thumbnails on the video timeline. Simply hover over the timeline to view a preview of the camera. This enhancement allows users to quickly locate specific moments in time, providing faster navigation and a more seamless workflow when reviewing recordings.

Camera Connectivity Improvements

The camera's remote and local check has been removed, eliminating connectivity issues that previously occurred when switching between different network areas within the school.

Grid Selector for Camera Views

When selecting a camera, you now have a grid selector that allows you to load the same camera multiple times. This enables different views, providing full awareness of classroom activity.

Calendar Date and Time Selector

Users with full access to view a camera's video can use the calendar date and time selector, located at the bottom left of the timeline, to quickly jump to a specific date and time.

Permissions

Video permissions have been updated to combine Live and Archived viewing into a single setting.  As a result, any custom roles that previously had individual View Live or View Archive permissions will no longer have access to video content.

To restore access, an administrator must update the role to include the new, combined video permission if appropriate.

User Email Updates

Flexible Contact Information Management:
In my profile, users can update their email address if needed, providing flexibility in managing contact information. For institutions that use SSO, this option may be restricted to ensure consistent access across platforms.

Live Chat

Users can use our new live chat to interact with Olivia, our AI agent for help and guides or connect with a member of our support team. Simply click the chat icon in the bottom right corner of your OVL window.
