Introduction
As part of ONVU Learning's security, end-users are required to be local to devices in order to have access to all features. Permissions can be configured to allow remote users to view live video but not to allow remote archive viewing.
Requirements
- The Camera must have access to OVL Cloud URLs. A network test tool can be found here
Network Test Tool - The Camera must be local to the user to view video
- It is not a requirement for the Camera to be on the same network as the Administrator although it is recommended
Please refer to the complete set of Technical Requirements below
Local/Remote Access
The Camera must be local to the user in order to access video archives. When the camera and the end-user are not local, and they have the correct permissions, they will only be able to view live video on their assigned devices.
A local camera will appear with a building icon
A remote camera will appear with a cloud icon
If VLANS are used
It is recommended to have cameras separated onto a VLAN which has access to the internet and is able to communicate with the VLAN which the users are connected to.
If VLANS are not used
Ensure cameras and clients are on the same network and able to communicate
