Issues connecting your camera
A camera will be assigned to your institution during the onboarding process. Administrators will be able to see the camera under 'Device Management' in the ONVU Learning UI.
If the camera is not appearing it may need to be rebooted.
LED Indicator
The camera will show a green or cyan LED to show that it is running correctly.
If no LED is showing then the camera is not getting power. Please check the cables and that PoE power is being delivered by the switch.
If the LED is white the camera is unable to obtain an IP Address. Please check the network and your DHCP settings
If the LED is flashing (any colour) the camera is not able to reach our cloud servers. Please check the network. Our network test tool can be found here Network Test Tool
Please refer to the Camera LEDs article for a full list of LED details.
If the LED is not showing green for an extended amount of time this can indicate an underlying issue and should be reported to Support Team.
Sound Issues
Our microphones are designed to pick up the sound of the whole room.
For optimal performance:
- The microphone should be installed on the front wall of the classroom.
- It is recommended to place the microphone between the desk height and the head height of an average adult.
- Make sure that it is kept clear of fans or other potential sources of background noise
- On partition walls be conscious of potential noise vibrations resonating through the wall
If you are having issues with sound, please contact support.
SD Card
If the SD is not inserted into the camera it will be unable to record.
On the 'Device Management' tab, set your recording schedule. If the recording indicator appears blank, check the SD card is inserted correctly.
If you are having issues with your SD card, please contact support.
